This week is actually a very exciting week for us!  We will be having a managers meeting on Wednesday 2/17, our assessment day for Machine Pitch, Minors, Majors, and Seniors on Saturday, 2/20, and our uniform fitting for Coach Pitch on Sunday, 2/21.

MACHINE PITCH, MINORS, MAJORS, & SENIORS PLAYERS

Please remember to sign up for an assessment spot on the SignUpGenius, if you haven't done so already.

A few tips for the SignUpGenius:

  • Read the info a the top of the SignUpGenius
  • If your daughter qualifies to assess as a pitcher, sign her up in a pitcher time slot
  • DO NOT sign her up in a Non-pitcher time slot, also
  • Only 1 time slot is needed per player, even for pitchers (they will have pitcher assessment included with the other girls in their group)
  • If your daughter is NOT a pitcher, please sign up in a Non-pitcher slot
  • Please contact me with any question your may about assessments

MP & MAJORS Sign Up

MNORS & SENIORS Sign Up

T-BALL/COACH PITCH PLAYERS

Please remember to sign up for a uniform fitting time slot on the SignUpGenius, if you haven't already done so.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS ON ASSESSMENT DAY

***Managers, please do NOT sign up to volunteer during the time you should be scoring***

We definitely will need some parents to help with certain spots on assessment day.  Here is another SignUpGenius for you, the parents, to help out.  Please be sure to read each description of each spot so that you know what to expect, BEFORE you commit.  Even T-Ball/Coach Pitch parents can get in on the fun!  It will give you a great idea of what to expect when your daughter moves up the ranks.  Thank you in advance for any and all help you can provide!

Again, THANK YOU so much for the support!!  I look forward to seeing everyone Saturday!!!!

HLL families!!

First, let me say thank you for signing up your daughter(s) to play spring softball with Huguenot Little League.  I am excited to be a part of another year of HLL softball.  We are going to have a fun year!!

I'm sure some of you have a few questions about practice nights, managers, game nights, uniforms, assessments, etc.  Those answers will come, just not right now.  I don't want to overload you (or myself).  The one answer I do have for you is that assessments will be on February 20, 2021.  We have secured an indoor space (2936 Oak Lake Blvd. Midlothian, VA 23112) so that we do not have to worry about Mother Nature.  If Mother Nature plays nice, then we will definitely change to be outside on a field.  Stay tuned for that...

I will be setting up a SignUp Genius for you to sign up for assessment time slots based on divisions.  We will begin with the Machine Pitch and Minors divisions first (around 8:00am) and move up to the Majors and Seniors divisions.  The plan is to only allow 6 girls in at a time to go through trying on a jersey, warmup throwing, hitting, pitching (if you're an experienced pitcher) and then through the scoring.  This way, hopefully, everyone will be spaced out accordingly.  More details along with a map of the flow will be coming soon.  Bascially, I just wanted to give you all this date to put on your calendars.

Another answer I can give is what the things are that we will assess.  We will be scoring how your daughter can hit off of live pitching (or maybe a machine using real softballs), how she can throw, how she can field ground balls and pop flys, and how fast she can run in 60 feet (the distance between the bases).  If your daughter is an experienced pitcher, we will also assess how she pitches.  We will watch mechanics, speed and accuracy.

What is an experienced pitcher?  An experienced pitcher is a player who has game experience or has taken 3 or more private pitching lessons.  We have to do it this way because of the limited time and space we have on this day.  If your daughter wants to learn to pitch, there could be opportunities during the season to be taught the basics.

Thank you again for signing up!  I look foward to seeing you all in a few weeks!!

Please message me with any conflicts you may have on February 20th so that I can make note of it.

Have a GREAT weekend!!
