- Baseball “League Age” determines what division you are eligible for. Click here for 2010 Baseball League Age Chart.
Softball “League age” determines what division you are eligible for. Click here for 2010 Softball League Age Chart.
- All players must try out. No player who fails to try out will be placed in the draft. (There are no tryouts for T-Ball and Senior Divisions).
- If a Baseball Majors player is not returning to his/her team, they MUST tryout.
There will be no "hat picks."
- Tryouts are solely for the purpose of player evaluation and even distribution of talent among teams.
All children registering to play at HLL will be selected for a team.
- Tryouts are at Robious Complex, behind Robious Elementary School.
- 2010 HLL “Play Up” Rules
- 6 Year Olds may “play up” in the Instructional division if they have played at least One (1) year of Little League sponsored Tee Ball (Fall Ball does not count). If a 6 Year Old does "play up", you will be required to pay the registration fee for the Instructional division – an additional $30.
- 8 Year Olds MAY TRY OUT for a Minor division team.
If an 8 Year Old is interested in playing in the Minor division, they MUST attend the Minor division tryout in order to be eligible to be drafted by a Minor division team. If they are drafted by a Minor team, then they can play up in the Minor division. If they are not drafted by a Minor division team then they will be drafted and play in the Instructional division.
NOTE: 8 Year Olds should also attend the Instructional division tryout, as trying out for Minor division does not guarantee that they will be selected to play up

10 Year Olds MAY TRY OUT for a Major division team.
If a 10 Year Old is interested in playing in the Major division, they MUST attend the Major division tryout in order to be eligible to be drafted by a Major division team. If they are drafted by a Major team, then they can play up in the Major division. If they are not drafted by a Major division team then they will be drafted and play in the Minor division.
NOTE: 10 Year Olds should also attend the Minor division tryout, as trying out for Major division does not guarantee that they will be selected to play up

12 Year Olds MAY TRY OUT for a Junior division team.
If a 12 Year Old is interested in playing in the Junior division, they MUST attend the Junior division tryout in order to be eligible to be drafted by a Junior division team. If they are drafted by a Junior team, then they can play up in the Junior division. If they are not drafted by a Junior division team then they will be drafted and play in the Major division.
NOTE: 12 Year Olds should also attend the Major division tryout, as trying out for Junior division does not guarantee that they will be selected to play up

14 Year Olds may “play up” in the Senior division simply by registering for the Senior division or informing the Senior division VP or the Player Agent of their wish to play up

The following are the places and times for the tryouts for each division. In order for tryouts to proceed as smoothly as possible, please come to the field 15 minutes before the time assigned to your age group and place in the alphabet. Note that there are no tryouts for the T-Ball and Senior Divisions. Please note that the ages below refer to your child’s league age – the age he or she will be on April 30, 2010.
