Minors - AA & AAA

Player Pitch - 9 & 10 Year Old Baseball
League Age 9 & 10

The Minors AA & AAA divisions are designed for players to further develop skills associated with player pitch.  The goal is to continue teaching basic baseball fundamentals while having fun.  The Minors AA and AAA are targeted toward player development.  HLL is in the process to move towards and assessment based placement methodology which will permit players more liberty in playing in a division best aligned to their skill, size and age.  We understand that players develop at different speeds and in different intervals and having two minors divisions provide flexibility to best align players to the best baseball experience.

Please visit the Little League Age Calculator to confirm player's league age.

Player Pitch- 9 & 10 Year Old Baseball - FAQs

Q: Do you keep score and are there umpires?
A: Yes.  Each manager keeps a scorebook.  League standings are kept to determine a regular season winner and to determine playoff games.  There is a home plate and field umpire.
Q: Can I Manage or coach a team?
A: Yes, if positions are available. Prospective managers must complete an online application. If you would like to serve as a coach, then please note that on your child's spring online registration. All managers and coaches must be approved by the Huguenot Little League Board of Directors.
Q: On what size field does this division play?
A: Bases are 60 ft apart and the pitching distance is 46 feet
Q: Does my child have to pitch in this division?
A: Every player will have the same opportunity to learn pitching skills.  However, not every player will be required to pitch.
Q: Can my child play up?
A: Parents may request that their child play up one division level but HLL Divisions and Drafting rules are setup and aligned to assessment based placement .  However to play up, there are two factors that come into play:
  1. a player must attend both the higher and lower division’s assessment and be drafted to the higher division.  If they are not drafted to the higher division, they must accept playing in the lower division.  All player assignments are ultimately determined by the Player Agent and VP of Minors Baseball.
  2. Little League rules specify the number of players that must be on a team and as a league we must have coaches to support additional teams.  The numbers in the upper and the lower divisions must support the move.  There is no guarantee that just because your player is good enough, and would be drafted that they will be able to play in the upper division.
Q: Can my child play down?
A: Players in need of more development may request to play down division level
Q: Is my child eligible for an All Star or Tournament team?
A: There are tournament teams at this level.  Please see our All Stars link for more information.
Q: Can I have my child play on a team with their friends?
A: Not unless they are drafted on to that team. In this age group, player's skills are evaluated in a skills assessment. Then a draft is held in order to balance the teams as much as possible.
Q: What are the volunteer requirements?
A: Huguenot LittleLeague is an all volunteer organization so there are many ways to volunteer. Help is always needed with registration, team parenting, assisting with pictures, opening day and fun day activities.
